What Chiropractic Patients Actually Ask: Five Years of Real Inquiry and Intake Data
We looked at every genuine written message sent to our North Fort Myers clinic — 279 messages over five years (Apr 2021 – Jul 2026) — plus 537 new-patient intake answers to “what brings you in,” 374 Google reviews, and 16 months of search data reaching our site. Here is what people actually ask a chiropractic clinic, in the aggregate. No identifying details; methodology at the bottom of the page.
What new patients tell us they’re coming in for
Every new patient answers one question on our intake paperwork: “Chief complaint — purpose of this appointment.” Of 688 intake entries since March 2021, 537 answered it. This is the mix at one North Fort Myers clinic — what people walk in with, not how common these problems are in the population:
More than half of the 537 stated chief complaints name back pain, and back plus neck/shoulder together account for 412 of 537 (76.7%). Categories below our privacy floor (fewer than 5 answers) are not shown — spinal decompression and billing both fell below it, which is itself telling: people book decompression consultations after research, not on the intake line.

What people write to a chiropractor before they ever come in
Our website contact forms collected 690 submissions from April 2021 to July 2026. After removing duplicates, spam, solicitations and blank or name-only entries (full drop chain in the methodology box below), 279 genuine written inquiries remained. The topics people name:
What the message is asking for (n=279)
| Request type | Count | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Appointment request | 139 | 49.8% |
| Cost / insurance question | 45 | 16.1% |
| Clinical question | 34 | 12.2% |
| Admin, records or hours | 20 | 7.2% |
| Other | 39 | 14.0% |
Half the inbox is people trying to book (139 of 279). One in six messages (45 of 279, 16.1%) is a cost or insurance question — asked before anyone has been seen. And 42 of 279 writers (15.1%) identify themselves as new to the area or new patients.
The questions inside the questions
151 items across our data carried an explicit question (137 of them from messages). The five most common themes: whether we accept a specific insurance plan (30), scheduling for a specific day or time (19), urgent or same-day requests (17), whether an evaluation can address a specific pain (17), and new-patient scheduling (6). We answer the fourth honestly the only way a data page should: an initial evaluation is where those individual questions get individual answers — this page reports what people ask, not outcomes.

Where every number comes from
Written messages (n=279). All 690 submissions to this site’s two contact forms, Apr 2021 – Jul 2026. We removed 34 duplicate submissions (same sender, same text — including one bot burst repeated 23 times in Mar 2026), leaving 656; 482 carried a usable written message of 15+ characters; mechanical filters removed 1 of our own form tests, 64 URL-spam and 5 pattern-spam messages (412 left); we then hand-reviewed every remaining unclassifiable item and removed 48 business solicitations, 1 gibberish entry and 84 submissions where the sender’s name was the only text — leaving 279 genuine inquiries. 24 genuine non-patient messages (e.g. records requests) stay in with neutral labels. Every removal is itemized in an internal audit file.
Intake chief complaints (n=537). Our new-patient paperwork is a medical intake form. We reduced its export the same day to a de-identified aggregate (chief-complaint and referral fields only) and deleted the raw export; of 688 entries, 537 answered the chief-complaint question. Intake answers are never mixed into message counts. 85 people appear once in each population (they wrote a message and completed intake) and are intentionally counted once per population.
Google reviews (n=303 of 374). Our listing shows 4.9★ across 374 reviews; 303 were retrievable for analysis (Google serves a subset) — 256 with text and 47 rating-only, included with no text signal. The average of retrieved ratings is 4.93; 295 of 303 are five-star. We cite the listing’s 4.9★ figure and state the retrieval count.
Search interest.
